Sounds good kermit... have you got any pics?

Alternatively, what about arm bands with these on them?

Christ, I hate all this political correctness!!

Yith didn't want plain coloured arm bands and didn't say anything about the swastika armbands until now.

Wasn't it two SS Panzer divisions at Arnhem?

Those linked rank insignia are army not SS.

I dont think that anyone will disagree there! But, unfortunately, its the way of the world - and some are (overly?) sensitive.

The only reason I suggested a simple coloured band is that its about denoting NCO's etc. Therefore needs to be quick and simple to identify - and if you have a re-org mid game, you can just swap the bands amongst people.

Sorry, about not mentioning my objection to the swastika before... It was only when I finally saw your picture that the possible issues dawned on me!

What really concerns me is that the company I work for has now become a part of a group with Dutch and German offices. We have already had problems with the playing of Wolfenstein and I'd rather not have pics of people with really visible swastikas running around being linked to me. I doubt it would effect my job, but I'd rather be safe than sorry in this case.

I know nothing about German insignia so I'm happy to go with anything... just the idea of loads of people running around with Nazi party arm bands rather concerns me.

I don't disagree that the party armband is 'wrong' in the sense that it is out of place, a fair point IMHO.

However, the yellow one should be OK surely? Plain armbands are available to us anyway but this idea was rejected earlier.

Out of devilment I pointed out elsewhere that all the Germans will be wearing the swastika on their tunics anyway - the issue that it is small is not a valid point - if a swastika is wrong , it's wrong. (Bit like me saying I'm a non-smoker to an insurance company on the basis that I don't inhale!!! Or Bill Clinto didn't have sex with that woman.  )

Yith, don't show anyone in your company ANY photos of you dressing-up and running around shooting people - that will badly affect your job prospects, or get you locked up in a padded cell.

Finally, as a personal gesture against the madness of the society we live in I am going to throw all caution to the wind and have a nice surprise for you when youarrive on Sunday Rich - the hotel will be festooned with swastika banners!!!

Heh... the company and my bosses are well aware of my hobby!

In fact my director will probably be coming to an airsoft event with his marshall arts club at some point.

Its not them I'm concerned about... they will support me all the way. However I'd rather not piss off my German colleagues too much!

lol... anyway I don't reckon this is just about me... I'd rather there weren't too many swastika's associated with CiA on the net as well... I mean we definately want to put a video of arnhem up on YouTube and/or google video, right? I can see them censoring it if we have a little too much Nazi regalia on it...

A small swastika on a tunic is not as noticeable as a large red one on the arm... one that the general public directly associate with nazi regalia.

I can imagine that Phoenix probably wouldn't want that sort of publicity either! heh...

As for plain armbands... well they'd look stupid on British airborne uniforms... thats my objection.

If the axis decide to go for it then fine... I have no idea what germans wear! lol

Nope, you just made it worse - I'm now going to put huge banners on the main road now pointing to the event.... now then what design can I use I wonder?

OK, OK I've been winding you up a bit Rich.

Now, I'm wandering off the point and musing what would have been brought up in war crime trials had the Germans won the war and what symbols would bring scorn and shame to a society 60 years after the event....
No need to reply, just being mischevious!!

You're all pansies, I've ordered my brownshirt already and have been practising the goose step in the car park at work . The bust of Hitler is in the post, and I look forward to inviting all my chums from the White Supremiscist Forum along for "set dressing" . Although now I maybe looking for a new job

TBH I don't like swastika armbands either, but was poo poohed when I suggested white tape in the position of an armband as being unauthentic.

I dont mind what aproach you do with the Allies, in fact trying two different approaches gives us good intel as to what works or not . The Allies will be more uniform in their uniforms , whereas the Germans will be a lot more rag tag, hence the more obvious identifier required, esp as we have abandoned fixed squads.

Why not design a honour cuff title longs the lines of "Waffen Kameraden", that we can stencil onto some grey cloth ? I'll have a play about if you like ?

LOL

Waffen Kameraden is good. OK, how about embroidered armbands? Should be cheap enough - fix them onto the usual velcro gaming bands for ease of attachment (and on the upper arm as they will fall off below the elbow). Or just safety pin onto right-hand cuff (19cm from the sleeve edge LOL).

No point making them too subtle though as they have to be seen from a distance.

It's not 'right' but won't look too out of place. Just a larger cuff title in the wrong place, whip 'em off for photos if you are too bothered (no one seems bothered about safety glasses though...)

Talking of titles, someone has been a bit naughty - Gucci has just spotted his entry on the booking thread:
Mark Worthington (Gucci) - Deutches Blitzmadel Abteilung [Kar98]
which I'm guessing means something like German Women Workers Division, or somesuch!! Watch out when you next go to F&O....
